After strong interest at bookmakers, the odds on Kevin Keegan becoming the new manager of the Republic of Ireland shortened significantly on Thursday.
However Friday's Dublin newspapers added a new name to the alleged FAI shortlist of candidates, with Ossie Ardiles taking his place alongside Terry Venables, Steve Staunton and Claudio Ranieri.
Early media speculation about the chances of Sir Bobby Robson taking charge has now disappeared (there's a surprise) but we think that could be because he's being courted for an "emotional return home" to take the Brandon United job in his native Durham. Or maybe not.
